Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy

Bioidentical molecules match human hormones.

We treat each patient individually and work to find the best and most accurate treatment.

Dr. Julie Howard has taken over 75 post-graduate hours studying bioidentical hormone therapy.

Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy is effective for both men and women. To get started, we will discuss your health history, family history, symptoms, and goals. Lab levels will be obtained to measure your current (baseline) levels so that we can monitor the effectiveness of the hormone treatment. There are several options for treatment for hormones, and the method of treatment will be discussed with you prior to treatment. Most insurance companies do not cover the cost of bioidentical hormones.

Perimenopause and menopause are natural stages of the female life. As women age, our sex hormones naturally decline, and this decline leads to uncomfortable symptoms and promotes illness and aging. In addition to the symptoms in the photo, many women experience cognitive decline or “brain fog” as their estrogen levels decline. Standard medical treatment fails women as we enter these stages of life. Optimizing hormone levels with bioidentical hormones can be safe and effective, and allow women to feel younger and be healthier.

Just like women experience menopause, men experience andropause. Their symptoms can be very similar to those of women, but also can (and often do) include erectile and sexual dysfunction.

We monitor hormone levels before and during treatment to ensure that your levels are optimal and not excessive. While no therapy is completely risk-free, we will work with you to minimize the risks of hormone effects, including cancer.

Mobile Wound Care

Chronic wounds are a serious concern for older adults, who account for about 85% of all cases. These wounds often take up to four times longer to heal than those in younger individuals, due to age-related changes in skin, fragile blood vessels, and common health conditions like diabetes, cardiovascular disease, poor nutrition, and limited mobility.

Left untreated, these wounds can lead to infection, reduced independence, and even serious complications such as sepsis or amputation. They can also significantly impact daily life—making it harder to get around, perform everyday activities, and enjoy social time with loved ones.

Our compassionate team makes treatment easy, comfortable, and effective. The advanced membrane is gently applied to the wound, covered with a protective dressing, and left undisturbed until the next appointment—just seven days later. This approach minimizes disruption while maximizing healing, helping patients regain mobility, independence, and peace of mind.

PLATELET RICH PLASMA INJECTIONS

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections can help the body heal from tendon issues, joint pain, and sexual dysfunction.   Platelets (thrombocytes) cause blood to clot and carries growth healing functions.  Activating platelets helps enhance the body’s natural healing process.

PRP is prepared by removing a vial of the patient’s blood and centrifuging it to concentrate the platelets.  The concentrated platelets are then extracted and injected back into that patient where indicated.
There is some discomfort during this treatment as it includes a blood draw and an injection (or several injections).  We do what we can to help with topical anesthesia in the area we are injecting to help minimize the discomfort.

Insurance does not cover PRP injections and the charge for PRP is responsibility of the patient at the time of service.

Allergy Testing and Treatment

Adults can develop allergies as we age.  Seasonal and environmental allergies can results in chronic sinus infections, vision changes, eye irritation, nasal congestion, cough, and symptoms of asthma.  We perform allergy testing in the office and results are obtained after 15 minutes.  72 common allergens are tested including grasses, trees, foods, animals, molds, etc.

If you are found to have allergens, we will discuss treatment options with you once the results are obtained.
